Bremmer’s land (“Landje van Bremmer”) is a small pasture in Oegstgeest at the Leiden border close to where I live. It is adjacent to a park belonging to castle “Endegeest”, and next to a eco plant nursery: “De Groene Cirkel” (The Green Cirkel). So far I was able to get a decent picture of more than 20 species of bird I found in this area.
In this post I show a few of those pictures. Click on them for a larger view, or an album.

There are a lot of small birds that can be heard while contemplating what is happening on the meadow, but they are often hard to find. Sometimes one decides to make a brief appearance in a nearby tree.

An infrequent visitor to the meadow. In the first picture it appears to have caught something, but I can’t make out what it is (a frog?)

Not the best picture of a Great Egret, it was rather far away, but it is the first time I saw one here (december 14, 2017), and I thought it memorable enough to put it in this list anyway. I do hope it will return for some better views.
Great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) in breeding plumage. Januari 8 may be a little early to start thinking about breeding, but here it was.
